The Aralia Ming Stump, with its lush foliage and unique, thick stump, offers a visually striking addition to any indoor garden. Officially known as Polyscias fruticosa 'Ming', this variety of Aralia is cherished for its fine, feathery leaves and the architectural interest provided by its trunk. Originating from the Pacific Islands, the Ming Aralia brings a piece of tropical elegance into your home, blending well with both modern and traditional decor. Here's how to care for your Aralia Ming Stump plant:

🌿 Botanical Name: Polyscias fruticosa 'Ming'

🐾 Pet Warning: Aralia plants are generally considered non-toxic to pets, but it's always best to prevent pets from chewing on plants.

💧 Care Level: Moderate. The Ming Stump requires attention to its lighting and watering needs but is quite forgiving and adaptable once those are met.

📏 Approximate Size: In indoor conditions, the Ming Aralia can grow up to 6-8 feet tall, but its growth rate and ultimate height can be easily managed through pruning.

🌞 Light: Prefers bright, indirect light. Too much direct sunlight can scorch its leaves, while too little light can cause leggy growth and leaf drop. A spot near a window with sheer curtains would be ideal.

💧 Water: Allow the topsoil to dry out slightly between waterings. Ming Aralia does not like to be waterlogged but also should not dry out completely. Overwatering and under-watering can both lead to leaf drop.

💦 Humidity: Enjoys high humidity but can adapt to average home humidity levels. If your home is very dry, consider using a humidifier or placing the plant on a pebble tray filled with water to increase humidity around it.

🌡️ Temperature: Prefers temperatures between 65°F to 85°F (18°C to 29°C). Avoid sudden temperature drops and cold drafts, which can cause leaf drop.

❄️ Hardiness: Not frost-tolerant. Best kept indoors or in a greenhouse where temperatures do not drop below 60°F (15°C).

🌱 Fertilizing: Feed with a balanced liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer), reducing to once every 8 weeks in fall and winter.

🔄 Re-potting: Re-pot every 2-3 years or when the plant becomes root-bound. Use a well-draining potting mix and a pot just one size larger to prevent overwatering.

🌱 Propagation: Can be propagated through stem cuttings. Take a cutting with at least two leaf nodes, dip in rooting hormone, and plant in a moist potting mix. Keep humid and warm until roots develop.
